The beaches of St Hilaire de Riez

Saint Hilaire extends over 10 km of fine sand and 3 km of rocky coastline. This makes it one of the Atlantic coastline resorts with one of the longest shorelines.
The Demoiselles beach is a well-known and unavoidable beach during your stay at camping L’Orée des Pins. This long sandy beach allows you to practice beach sports at low tide as well as pine nut fishing, and at high tide the joys of the ocean: swimming, kite-surfing, sailing, catamaran. Your toddlers can make sandcastles and the older ones can enjoy the surfing area or the water activities.
In the heart of the seaside resort, the Grande plage de Sion of Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez is one of the most touristic beaches of the bay of Sion sur l’Océan. Other beaches are at your disposal during your stay at the campsite in Saint Hilaire de Riez: the beach of the 60 Bornes, the Salins, the Becs, the Mouettes, the Pège, the Parée Préneau, Riez, the 5 Pineaux, the Bussoleries and the Pelle à Porteau.

To discover during your camping holidays

During your holidays at the campsite L’Orée des Pins, don’t hesitate to go for a walk in the heart of the salt marshes of Saint Hilaire de Riez and discover the making of salt and the work of the salt worker. The hectares of salt marshes allow the flora and fauna to flourish with a rich diversity of plants and animals: herons, marsh harriers, ducks, white egrets…
Don’t forget also during your holidays the famous Corniche Vendéenne, a superb walk along the coast using the cycle track or the footpath. For history lovers, the Bois-Juquaud museum opens its doors and presents the life and customs of the market gardeners.

Saint Hilaire and its surroundings

During your visit to the seaside resort, you will have the opportunity to explore the Vendée. South of St Hilaire, discover St Gilles Croix de Vie and its marina, its sardine companies and its history.
A little further north, discover Saint Jean de Monts, its urban and wild beaches of 8 km, its estacade, its forest and its dune paths without forgetting theisland of Noirmoutier and the passage of the Gois in Beauvoir sur Mer.
If you decide to explore the retro littoral, do not forget Challans and its history, Apremont with its castle and its lake for swimming, Le Lac du Jaunay for a walk in the middle of nature, La Roche sur Yon, a Napoleonic city and the unmissable Puy du Fou to Les Epesses, passing by the Mont des Alouettes in Les Herbiers, known for its mills and the Vendée wars.
